The Municipality is Working to Keep Our Beaches Clean During Semana Santa

Semana Santa, Holy Week, is the busiest week of the year for tourism, both international travelers are visiting Costa Rica for Easter break as well as national tourists enjoying the week off from work. This week, all government agencies are closed across the country, giving lots of families the ability to travel for the holiday. The Garabito Municipality is a favorite amongst nationals and international travelers alike. Jaco offers an expansive beach that is a filled with families and novice surfers, Hermosa is where you can find the surf lifestyle and Herradura is home to the best fishing in the country. It’s no wonder the central pacific coast is where everyone wants to come vacation.

JacoCleanBeachThe Municipality is making a concentrated effort to keep our beaches pristine during this week. With the number of visitors this has been a challenge in the past. Continued growth in our community whether we live here year round or just for the week makes it important for each of us to do our part. The Costa Rica Team hopes everyone will be mindful to clean up after themselves when visiting our beautiful beaches. There will be portable toilet facilities available at various locations on the beach in Jaco and we encourage you to use them to help keep the water clean as well. It is with pride that we invite visitors from around the world to have fun in the sun while keeping consciously aware of preserving our environment.
